Richard Street Jr. was an American singer, songwriter, and musician, born on October 5, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan. He was best known for his work as a member of the Temptations, one of Motown's most successful groups. Street joined the group in 1971 after the departure of Eddie Kendricks, and contributed to many of their hits during the 1970s. He left the Temptations in 1992 to pursue a solo career. Street died on February 27, 2013, at the age of 70, from a pulmonary embolism. He was posthumously inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
